Miles Koules Signs PTO with the Monsters

The Cleveland Monsters announced the signing of forward, Miles Koules, to a 25 game PTO contract.

Koules is a great puck handler with top notch offensive instincts which makes him a threat on the penalty kill. He is an extremely driven player. Once you give Koules a goal, he won’t stop until the goal has been reached.

He spent three seasons, 2012-2015, in the WHL playing for the Medicine Hat Tigers and the Portland Winterhawks.

In 141 games with the Tigers, Koules notched 45 goals and 47 assists for a total of 92 points. Koules’ second season with the Tigers was his best scoring a career high of 25 goals and 26 assists.

The Washington Capitals invited Koules to training camp before the start of the 2014-15 season. He made it to preseason games before being cut.

Two games into the 2014-15 season, the Tigers traded Koules to the Portland Winterhawks for a fourth round draft pick in the 2017 Western Hockey League Bantam Draft. While with the Winterhawks, he would smash his previous stats record by notching 58 points in the form of 26 goals and 32 assists. The Winterhawks would go deep in the playoffs that season with help from Koules. Over 17 playoff games, Koules would score two goals and 11 assists.

After the 2014-15 season, Koules was invited to the Capitals rookie camp. He was hoping this would lead to a contract with the organization. However, Koules started the 2015-16 season playing in the ECHL. Over 59 games with both the Quad City Mallards and Wichita Thunder, Koules scored 26 points.

This past season, Koules played with the Atlanta Gladiators (ECHL), Tulsa Oilers (ECHL), and Ontario Reign (AHL) before landing with the Cleveland Monsters.
