Meet the new Blue Jacket: Andrew Bodnarchuk

Bodnarchuk was a big part of the Calder Cup-winning Manchester Monarchs this past season, serving as an alternate captain and contributing all over the ice. He’s also been a black ace player on two Stanley Cup squads in Boston and Los Angeles.

He is a candidate for the sixth or seventh defenseman spot in Columbus, but more likely he’ll be part of the leadership core in Cleveland, where he’ll also play a top-four role. He’s undersized for a blueliner, but he’s a great skater with good offensive ability.
