Marching Orders – 4/26/13

The Jackets still aren’t getting outside help, but as Pedro Cerrano so wisely said, “*%)% you, Jobu. I do it myself.”

After wrapping up their roadtrip with a massive 3-1 win over Dallas, the Jackets will have to sit and wait today before they take on the Predators for one of the most insane season finales the franchise has ever seen. Win or lose, it’s been one hell of a ride.

As it is, the Jackets have a one in three chance of making it in. We’re rooting for one thing tonight: The Edmonton Oilers need to defeat the Wild, and they need to do it in regulation.

While the “automatic” way in is for the Jackets to roll Nashville, and Dallas to beat Detroit, the “back door” play is for Minnesota to go 0-2 or 0-1-1 in their final two games tonight and tomorrow.

If that happens, and the Jackets take care of business, they slide in just under the wire, and from there….well, if there’s one thing we learned last year, it’s that anything can happen once you make it in the door.

Out East, the Rangers clinched tonight, so their pick will NOT be a lottery pick, but hell, we’ve still got three first rounders, no matter where they land. I’m sure we’ll see Jarmo and JD have some fun with that.
