Kerby Rychel Traded to Toronto

Post draft, the Jackets traded Kerby Rychel to the Toronto Maple Leafs

Even when they’re done, the Blue Jackets are not done.

Kerby Rychel, a former first round pick, was traded today to the Toronto Maple Leafs for defenseman Scott Harrington and a conditional pick, per Bob McKenzie. Rychel registerd 2-7-9 in 32 games with the Blue Jackets last season.

Per McKenzie, "The pick in TOR-CBJ is a conditional 5th. If Harrington is put on waivers by CBJ and gets claimed, CBJ gets a 5th. If he clears, no pick."

Scott Harrington played 17 games for the Marlies in the AHL last season, registering 1-2-3 before his season ended early due to an upper body injury. Harrington was originally a second round draft pick, 54th overall, of the Pittsburgh Penguins.

More to come on this developing story.
