John Ramage Traded to Arizona Coyotes

The Columbus Blue Jackets traded defenseman, John Ramage, to the Arizona Coyotes for future considerations.

Ramage has been an integral part of the Cleveland Monsters for the past two and a half seasons. In 170 games with the Monsters, Ramage tallied 14 goals and 47 assists.

He was Alternate Captain last season and wore the “A” on occasion this season.

The move opens up a contract spot up. Before trading Ramage, the Jackets were getting close to the contract limit of 50. With Ramage gone, the contracts go from 46 to 45. A more manageable number for the organization.

The Jackets play the Coyotes on Thursday. It’s unclear if Ramage, will be sent to the Coyote’s AHL affiliate, Tuscon Roadrunners, or not.
