Jackets Make “D” Moves

In the wake of a satisfying 2-1 Victory over the Philadelphia Flyers, the Jackets have made adjustments to the team’s defense this morning.

Defenseman Nate Guenin has been assigned to Springfield of the AHL, while rookie Nick Holden has been told he’ll be sticking around for a bit longer. Holden has looked very steady since being called up, and while he hasn’t directly produced points on the PP, he has handled the puck well and did a nice job at even strength. He has yet to play shorthanded, though, so it remains to be seen how he will handle some of the tougher situations.

Meanwhile, Kris Russell, who has been on the shelf with a groin tweak following his return from a knee injury, has been cleared to play and is expected to return to the lineup for Thursday’s game against the Oilers.

The Jackets are not practicing today, but will have practice tomorrow at Nationwide Arena. Practice starts at 10:30am and is open to the public.
