Jackets Announce Lineup for Thursday

Looks like we’re still doing some evaluations, but this lineup seems much closer to the “real” NHL lineup than anything we’ve seen yet.

Ethan Moreau – Sammy Pahlsson – Derek Dorsett

Steve Mason

David LeNeveu

If I had to guess, Clark, Dorsett, D-Mac, Blunden, and Methot are on the hot seat with this lineup. Clitsome was probably starting the year in Springfield anyhow, but we’ll see if he gives us any surprises. I know we picked Dorsett as a guy to watch this year, but strong performances from guys like Wilson and Kubalik may have put his job into question.

LeNeveu’s officially “won” the third goalie slot, and will be on the trip to Sweden. I’m curious if Mase will play the full 60 or if he’ll split time again.

Though I’m looking forward to the 6-7-8 line, Umberger up there does give them a guy who will get in the crease and bang around to create chances. Could be an exciting combination.

The Wild haven’t announced a roster that I’ve seen yet, but on the other hand, they also cut down their roster to (basically) the opening night squad, so I wouldn’t expect much difference from last night.

This is the third to last tune-up game before Sweden. I’d expect to see this squad play, cuts made on Friday either before or after the game in Washington, and then your “final” squad plays against Atlanta on Saturday before hopping on the plane to Malmo.
