Highlight Recap: Look What You Made the Blue Jackets Do

Hockey night! Sergei Bobrovsky in net! The Columbus Blue Jackets traveled to take on the Carolina Hurricanes, and a hockey game happened.

In team news, Josh Anderson returned to the lineup, Zac Dalpe left it, and Torts juggled the lines. How’d that work out?

FIRST PERIOD

The Blue Jackets top six started slowly. Thankfully, Sergei Bobrovsky and the bottom six were able to generate chances and help keep the team in the game.

Josh Anderson looked like he was certainly up to game speed, including forcing a neutral zone turnover.

35% faceoffs in the period was a downer though.

SECOND PERIOD

Goals this period: Trinidad and Tobago 2, these two teams zero.

Both teams failed on the power play, neither team set up serious shop in the offensive zone until Carolina did in the final minute of the period (forcing two CBJ icings) and that’s about it.

Oh, and Torts returned the lines to opening night makeup.

Be not the USMNT in the third period

THIRD PERIOD

The Blue Jackets scored! At the 10:01 mark, Sonny Milano broke the deadlock with assists from Nick Foligno and Oliver Bjorkstrand.

Jeff Skinner tied the game off a failed clearing attempt with 1:25 to go.
