Highlight Recap: Columbus Blue Jackets at Pittsburgh Penguins

Here’s what just happened.

The Columbus Blue Jackets traveled to Pittsburgh for the second time in a week to take on the Pittsburgh Penguins. They would face the Penguins without Brandon Dubinsky and Zach Werenski; the Blue Jackets also lost Alexander Wennberg to a back injury as well as Cam Atkinson to a broken foot.

First Period

Sonny Milano scored for the first time in 20 games, and Boone Jenner scored his first in 16 games as the Blue Jackets raced out to 2-0 lead.

Second Period

Conor Sheary got one back for Pittsburgh before Artemi Panarin’s latest disgusting move extended the lead to 3-1 late in the period.

Third Period

An Artemi Panarin goal was not enough as two late goals allowed Pittsburgh to take the game to overtime.

Pittsburgh had a goal disallowed for goaltender interference. In the shootout, Malkin and Crosby scored for Pittsburgh. No one scored for Columbus.
