As we talked about, the #DefendNWA campaign is in full swing as the Jackets get ready to sell single game tickets for the 2013-2014 NHL season, and we’re already starting to see fans changing twitter icons, facebook profiles, the works.
It’s a good start, but when we’re competing against the zeitgeist juggernaut of OSU football, it never hurts to throw out a few more ideas to get people thinking hockey.
That’s where you come in.
Defending this city means we show up at the arena and we cheer on our boys, but it also means having something we care about. Something special. Something you protect.
We want to see the things that make this city special to you.
Here’s how this is going to work.
Step 1: Figure out your favorite place in Columbus. I’m going to be mean, and tell you that Nationwide and R-Bar do not count. It’s just too easy.(Live outside of Columbus? That’s OK. Show us your favorite hometown spot.)
Step 2: Print out the Defend NWA logo below:
. (Can’t print it out? Grab some paper and a shapie pen. Go to town!)
Step 3: Grab your jersey, your sign, and whatever else makes you feel as hockey’d up as possible, and head out to your favorite spot. Get a friend / family member / random bystander to snap a picture, and post it here in the comments.
We’ll give you through Saturday, the 14th, and then we’ll pick a winner from the entries.
We’lll announce the winner before Sunday’s pre-season kickoff against the Penguins, and maybe even see if we can put together some kind of slideshow if we get enough entries.
