Saturday, April 4 – 7:00 PM ET
Nationwide Arena – Columbus, Ohio
TV: FDSNOH; Radio: 97.1 FM
Winnipeg Jets (32-31-12, 76 points, 6th Central, 12th West)
at
Columbus Blue Jackets (38-26-12, 88 points, 4th Metro, 10th East)
With just six games remaining, the Blue Jackets are running out of runway (obligatory airplane pun!) in their quest to qualify for the playoffs. Obviously Mathieu Olivier and Dimitri Voronkov are still out, as is Damon Severson who had shoulder surgery on Thursday which officially ends his season. Mason Marchment and Isac Lundestrom remain gametime decisions; Lundestrom played on Thursday and Marchment did not, but Marchment practiced this morning while Lundestrom did not.
Now to the scoreboard:
Currently, the Rangers are up on the Red Wings through two periods. We are tied with Detroit at 88 points but they have a game in hand.
The Senators are also down 2-0, to the Wild. The Sens are just above the cut line for Wild Card 2.
The Lightning host the Bruins at 5. At 94 points already, the Bruins may not be practically catchable.
Also at 5, the Penguins host the Panthers. At 92 points, are the Penguins out of reach for the Jackets? I’m afraid they might be.
At 7, the Islanders visit the Hurricanes. May the home team do to them what they did to us.
