Game Thread #22 – Blue Jackets vs. Avalanche

A rare matinee for the Blue Jackets today as the Avalanche come to town. This kicks off a four-game homestand, and Columbus has nine of 10 overall here in the friendly confines.

For the love of all things holy, we’re happy to report that the exact same lineup will be on the ice tonight, which means no new injuries have been rained down upon us in the last 48 hours. This is a moral and very real victory for this club right now. Dalton Prout will also get a chance to, ya know, warm up before this game, so that’s good too.

Make sure to give Vinny Prospal a rousing cheer if you’re at the game, as he potted the 250th goal of his storied career in Chicago on Friday night. A well-deserved milestone for a classy guy. Keep firing, Vinny. You’re one of the few guys with some snipe-age on this team right now.

Also, good to see Ryan Johansen get his first goal of the season on Friday night with a slick deke/backhanded roof job. Hopefully the floodgates can open and he can get going. He looked dangerous at times on Friday against a good Chicago team. Maybe against some non-streak-running competition we’ll get to see him really explore the proverbial studio space.

All signs point to Sergei Bobrovsky in net. Here’s hoping he’s put Tuesday’s turd behind him.
