Game Preview: Heading to Raleigh

After a few nights off following Saturday’s contest in Chicago, the Blue Jackets head to Raleigh to face off with the Carolina Hurricanes tonight at 7:00 pm. Goaltender Sergei Bobrovsky returns to the net, having recorded the 29-save shutout in the opener last Friday.

As for the ‘Canes, they enter tonight’s matchup winners in their only game so far, a 5-4 shootout victory over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday. Goalie Scott Darling, an offseason acquisition traded over from the Chicago Blackhawks, gets the nod in net.

Columbus will also have new look lines as Josh Anderson makes his season debut. In Saturday’s opener for Cleveland, he impressed with speed, physicality and was the games’ shot leader.

Things to know

Nick Foligno has won nearly 80 percent of his faceoffs so far (19 of 24). Columbus is 4-1-1 in its previous six at Carolina and have won two straight. The Hurricanes have never shut out the Jackets. Columbus did so twice — Marc Denis, 3-0, 25 saves on road March 2, 2004, and Bobrovsky with 36 saves in a 3-0 home win Jan. 10 2014.

We’ll also see how some new line combinations work.
