Game Preview: Back to Work
Blue Jackets look to end January back in the win column
Good news: Most of the Blue Jackets got a long weekend for the All Star break.
Bad news: It was a needed break, because they lost the two games before the break.
Good news: The 3 Jackets in the All Star Game played well.
Bad news: The Jackets are 5-7 since their 16 game win streak.
Good news: They can finish January an even 7-7 with a win tonight.
Bad news: They are likely to do so without the services of defenseman David Savard. He played on Thursday against Nashville but his minutes were limited and he felt more back discomfort.
Good news: Dean Kukan was recalled from Cleveland. He played very well late last season and I hope he gets a chance to prove himself again.
Bad news: Kukan is a scratch tonight. We get Scott Harrington and Dalton Prout as the bottom pairing again.
Good news: Markus Nutivaara has resumed dry land workouts, so hopefully he will be back soon.
Bad news: Because of his travel, Sergei Bobrovsky is getting more rest before the key game at Pittsburgh on Friday. Joonas Korpisalo will start tonight.
Good news: The Rangers have the same record as Columbus over the last 10 games, at 5-5-0 each.
Bad news: The Rangers will be getting Marc Staal, Jesper Fast, and Antti Raanta back from injury.
