Game #72 Recap: Columbus Blue Jackets at Boston Bruins

The Columbus Blue Jackets traveled to Massachusetts to take on the Boston Bruins on the heels of their 3-0 victory over the Carolina Hurricanes. The Blue Jackets elected to start Joonas Korpisalo, giving Sergei Bobrovsky the night off. The team was also without Nick Foligno, who missed the game for a personal matter.

With two points on the line, here’s what happened.

The Boston Bruins opened the scoring early in the first behind a Patrice Bergeron power play goal.

Columbus took few shots early in the game, but a power move from Matt Duchene equalized the score late in the first.

That would hold up through regulation, though a big Joonas Korpisalo save helped secure one point for the CBJ.

In overtime, Brad Marchand managed to score the game winner.

Conor McGregor sucks, go away.

Final

Columbus Blue Jackets 1 Boston Bruins 2 (OT)

Final Thoughts

It sucks not to get two points, but a point on the road at minimum was necessary.

The ice, apparently, sucked.

Western Canada next. Get six points.

Go Jackets.
