Game 69 Open Thread: A Game Against the East. Fistpump.

While my exuberance in the title may seem a little pretentious, given the string of losses the Jackets have strung together of late, Jackets fans can’t help but get a little excited when an Eastern Conference team comes to town. The Jackets have a 10-2-1 record against Eastern Conference foes this season.

Tonight it’s the Bruins.

The Bs are playoff-bound, looking to improve on their playoff run last year. Somebody found Tim Thomas last summer, after being lost in Northern Massachusetts during the previous season. He’s back in net and stealing games. He’s expected to go tonight. Boston has many options offensively, but their powerplay has been less than stellar of late. They’ve also lost four in a row.

Let’s continue the skid, not be the slump busters, cool?

As for the Jackets, it’s looking like Steve Mason is the starter. He was good against Carolina, and needs to remain focused. The Jackets are still in the hunt, but need strong performances from him here on out.

I love the look of the new “fourth” line. Upshall, MacKenzie and Calvert. Outside of Umby these are the three guys who seem to just never stop moving and making things happen.

I love games against the East.

Go Jackets.
