Columbus played a fine game. There were issues with taking penalties (seriously, can we try not to give up 5-on-3 chances for the rest of the season?), as well as indecisiveness and a reluctance to shoot the puck while on an odd man rush, but at the end of the day, Columbus brought home a win.
Cam Atkinson was everywhere last night. Brandon Saad played a spectacular game as well, and was rewarded with his team leading 17th and 18th goals. Not bad for a guy who we added this offseason- Saad has certainly answered his critics who wondered if he could continue to produce without having Jonathan Toews next to him. Joonas Korpisalo, to his credit, played well. Not great, but well enough to get the win. P.K. Subban's goal was a tough one to let in, but he kept Montreal's chances out for the rest of the night.
Columbus travels to Montreal to take on the Canadiens again tonight. Faceoff is at 7:00 EST.
