Game 46 Open Thread: Moving Right Along

Put me in the camp that’s pleased with the Jackets taking three of four points from the Wings over the weekend. While the second game was light on defensive play and goaltending, the back and forth lead changes, combined with inspired play from all of the forwards, made for exciting hockey.

Tonight the Jackets look to continue their humble point streak against the Southest Division-leading Tampa Bay Lightning, who possess the highest scoring tandem in the NHL in Stamkos and St.Loius. I love the offensive talent the Lightning boast, you can’t help but be envious. They have more stability in net since acquiring ageless vet Dwayne Roloson, as soon as Stevie Y can rebuild that blueline and get a long-term fix in net, that team will be lethal.

The Jackets are likely going with the same lineup as last game, with Steve Mason getting the start. The Jackets can’t get away with the defensive lapses they did last game, the Lightning have an offense that can embarrass you if given the chance. The key is to expose the Lightning’s weaknesses while playing tight defensively yourself.

Translation: This should be a low-scoring tilt.

Or not.
