The Blue Jackets seemed to have regained their scoring touch (knock on wood), beating the Bruins 5-1 Monday before emerging with an OTW from the 13-goal chaos that was Thursday’s match versus Tampa Bay. Now, they face the best team in the East and division rival Carolina Hurricanes.

Jack Roslovic
The Columbus native and former Blue Jackets signed a one-year, $2.8M contract with the Hurricanes over the offseason, and it looks like the Jerks got a bargain. He’s up to 11 goals in 19 games so far, halfway to his career best a quarter of the way into the season. It’s nice to see him finally get some success, but I would encourage him to take the night off tonight.

Zach Werenski’s 5-point night Thursday set a franchise record for most points in a game by a defenseman. Neat! … Interest seems to be drumming up around an Ivan Provorov trade, but Don Waddell is holding onto him for now. … I would expect less than six goals in the first half of the second period tonight. Bold prediction.
