Right back on the horse! Now that you’ve soaked in the Game Preview, and after some technical glitches on Saturday, we’re back with a vengeance for the second installment of our new mockumentary series: The Cannon’s Bizarro Game Day Matchup. In today’s clash of the video titans, the Wild travel to virtual Nationwide to take on the Blue Jackets.
And, much like on Saturday, the Jackets showed no mercy. They again got going early, and their top two lines were brimming with juggernaut-like qualities. The game got a little sloppy toward the end, but that’s going to happen when things go the way the did here.

Final: Blue Jackets 8, Wild 1 – Game Notes:
- Three Stars: 3. Mark Letestu, 2. Ryan Johansen, 1. Jeff Carter
- Nice to see some semblance of offense from Jeff Carter. Perhaps it’s a harbinger of the damage he can bring.
- Even in the virtual realm, Vinny Prospal and Ryan Johansen seem to enjoy playing together.
- I got a little “kill-shot happy” toward the end as the score got out of hand. I blame the Wild’s lone goal on my lack of defensive ability once I repeatedly whiffed on checks. I also need to work on my faceoffs. I got pwned in the circle.
- The Jackets’ Virtual PK is pretty damn good.
Again, this is all just for fun. Here’s hoping the real Jackets’ offense can get going like this. Enjoy the game!
