Game 16 Open Thread: Jets @ Jackets
With the Columbus lineup getting a significant shake up this morning after the activation of Jeff Carter from IR, we might just have a reason for some excitement after the last three painful outings. (Was it really just two weeks ago that we won against the Ducks? Really? It seems so much longer....)
A little good news: The Jets have been penalized 77 times so far this year, by far the most in the NHL.
A little hopeful news: The Jets are 1 and 5 vs. the Jackets in their last 6 tries, dating back to their time in Atlanta.
A little awesome news: Finland has appointed Angry Birds as the official mascot of the 2012 IIHF World Championships. (Note: Values of awesome may entirely depend on the reader)
A little uncertain news: Steve Mason gets the start tonight. But it will be a new look defense in front of him...
Here are your revised lines for tonight's matchup:
Rick Nash | Jeff Carter | R.J. Umberger |
Vinny Prospal | Mark Letestu | Ryan Johansen |
Antoine Vermette | Samuel Pahlsson | Derek Dorsett |
Matt Calvert | Derek MacKenzie | Jared Boll |
Fedor Tyutin | Nikita Nikitin |
Grant Clitsome | James Wisniewski |
John Moore | Marc Methot |
Steve Mason |
Allen York |
We also have two updates on the Winnipeg side of the ice: With defenseman Brett Festerling dealing with an upper body injury, he will be replaced by rookie d-man Paul Postma, and reports that Chris Mason would start tonight have been contradicted by head coach Claude Noel, who will be starting Ondrej Pavelec in net.
If you're staying home, it's hard to blame you. If you're going, wave hello to me over in 208.
Hier stehe ich. Ich kann nicht anders.
