Seattle Kraken (6-8-1, 13 points, 6th Pacific, 12th West)

Player to Watch

Dante Fabbro

The Jackets claimed Dante Fabbro off waivers earlier this week and he was slated to join the team in Seattle, we’ll see if he makes his CBJ debut tonight. Fabbro was drafted 17th overall back in the 2016 entry draft. The 2016 draft featured Auston Matthews at the top and Fabbro will be the fifth 1st round pick from that draft to suit up for the CBJ. The others, listed in draft order, are Patrik Laine (2), PLD (3), Alex Nylander (8), and Jake Bean (13). Fabbro was not a point producer in Nashville, but he spent a considerable amount of time paired with Roman Josi. If Werenski is considered a roamer, Josi puts him to shame. The role of any Josi partner is to be a stay at home presence and not to create offense, you cover so Josi can his thing. Fabbro could theoretically slot anywhere in the lineup, we’ll see what plans Evason has for him.

Jackets Notes

Friedman speculated on 32 thoughts on Monday that Jiricek could be on the trade market. While it can be tough to tell if Friedman is reporting or just pontificating, he rarely says things on his pod if he hasn’t at least heard interest from someone. Looks like Kent Johnson will be back before the end of November, and it cannot happen soon enough. Congrats to Jarmo on being inducted into the Finnish Hockey Hall of Fame this past weekend.

Kraken Notes

The Kraken promoted their AHL coach, and former Stanley Cup champion, Dan Bylsma in the offseason as well as signing two big ticket free agents in Montour and Stephenson. The Kraken are playing solid hockey, but the goaltending outside of D’Accord has been bad. Daniel Sprong was acquired from the Canucks over the weekend, he’s an original recipe Kraken and has a great shot. If you pay attention when the broadcast cuts to the Seattle bench during the game you may see the first Female NHL coach, Jessica Campbell.
