Vladislav Gavrikov
Our old friend Gavy is having the best season of his career so far. He leads all Kings skaters in average ice time (thanks to the long term injury to Drew Doughty), and has a shot attempt percentage of 58.3% at 5v5. It appears that Gavrikov made a smart decision in summer 2023 to bet on himself with a two year deal. He is poised to cash in big time as an unrestricted free agent next summer.
Jackets Notes
One point of emphasis at practice yesterday, according to coach Dean Evason, was getting more action around the net to create second and third chances. The Jackets got 50 shots on goal against the Sharks, but only one got past Vitek Vanecek.
The Other Bench
Tanner Jeannot was suspended for three games for an illegal check to the head against Brock Boeser in Thursday’s loss to the Vancouver Canucks.
