Tonight marks the beginning of the first road trip of the season with the next 4 games taking place along the Pacific Coast. Hope you all made it out to vote today!

Players to Watch

Highly Drafted Players

This game will feature several young and highly drafted prospects. Fantilli, Sillinger, and Jiricek look to be playing tonight for the Jackets against the most recent first overall pick Macklin Celebrini, William Eklund, and the guy the Jackets were rumored to have interest in the ’23 Draft, Will Smith.

Jackets Notes

After giving up 6 and 7 goals in the two most recent, and noncompetitive, games there were several posts from local media about a tougher practice on Monday and a desire to return to playing with structure. The lines have been tweaked a little with Pyyhtia and Voronkov switching and JVR and ZAR rotating on the 4th. I’m expecting JVR to play tonight with Elvis getting the net.

Kent Johnson skated at the Monday practice by himself, Waddell commented that a return was likely a few weeks away.

The Other Bench

After starting back to back seasons with 9 game losing streaks, the Sharks won 3 games in a row before dropping their most recent contest. Macklin Celebrini draws back in tonight after scoring in his debut and then missing the following games due to injury. Will Smith finally got his first goal(s) of his NHL career against Vancouver but has had a rough start to his NHL career.

The Sharks roster is an interesting mix of young players and veterans you probably didn’t realize now play in San Jose. Alex Wennberg is one of those familiar faces, as is Timothy Liljegren, who was recently acquired via trade from Toronto.
