I’m not saying that a Loa on our side is an unfair advantage. I’m just saying that every little bit helps. I have personally offered some smoked chicken to the cause of waking up the Jackets’ sticks. I’m not a crazy man. I just believe in hedging my bets.
As we mentioned in our preview, the Thrashers haven’t beaten Columbus on their home ice since 2005. That’s a long, long time, even for cross-conference play. They’re very much in the “Should Win” category…which is why this game makes me a little nervous, especially with Atlanta coming off a big win last night in Florida. It’s a strong risk of a trap game. The Jackets need to get on the board early, and put the Thrashers into a hole they can’t pull themselves back out of.
Speak to Jobu. Make your offering. He will take the fear from our sticks, and the Jackets will score goals very much. (And it may not hurt that Mathieu Garon is 4-0 in his career against Atlanta with a 1.00 GAA, either.)
