Round 3, Game 34: David Vyborny vs. Geoff Sanderson
Vyborny (defeated Espen Knutsen 142-28): It’s hard to find a single video that encapsulates what Vyborny meant to the fans in Columbus. What appealed to me most, personally, was how he was a guy that was always there, for the first 8 years of the team. Here’s him scoring the first shootout goal in franchise history:
Sanderson defeated Jean-Luc Grand-Pierre 119-51): He was very easy to root for, as he was the one early player that could be counted on to light the lamp on a consistent basis. In one of my favorite early CBJ memories, here is Sanderson scoring the first hat trick in franchise history:
