Falcons Top P-Bruins 4-1 at The Nest

Jonathan Audy-Marchessault picked up right where he left off on Friday night. JAM followed his Friday night hatty with a pair of markers on Saturday night as the Falcons defeated the Providence Bruins 4-1 at The Nest in Springfield.

Yes, it is preseason and things like this aren't necessarily an indicator of things to come. However, the two home games this weekend showed these Falcons to play confidently in the offensive zone. These Falcons have shown strong defense. The goaltending has been reliable.

Curtis McElhinney went the distance turning in a 23 save performance for Springfield. Michael Hutchinson took the loss for the P-Bruins, turning aside 25 of 29 Falcon shots.

John Moore put the Falcons on the board just four minutes into the opening stanza.

Then it was time to spread some JAM on the B's. Early in the second period, Audy-Marchessault redirected a Moore blueline blast to put the Birds in front for good. JAM followed that with a power play marker at 14:34 to increase the lead to 3-1.

Ryan Craig finished off the scoring when he banged in a nice feed from Andrew Joudrey at 12:19 of the final frame.
