Falcons Sign Goaltender Taylor
During an afternoon Twitter session (sorry friends, I am rarely "on time" with Twitter...usually 12 hours behind), I wanted to share something that Falcons broadcaster Mike Kelly tweeted just before 2PM:
#FalconsAHL have signed goaltender Danny Taylor. He will wear uniform #1.
Brief, and potentially ominous. Allen York was demolished last night during the second period of Springfield's 7-4 win in Wilkes-Barre over the Penguins.
From my post earlier today:
An eventful second period in which Falcons starting netminder Allen York took the brunt of a slash/collision at the hands of the Pens' Paul Thompson. York was shaken up badly and after a few minutes with Falcons trainer Tom Bourdon in the crease, York couldn't continue and came out. Later labelled as an "upper body injury".
The Blue Jackets/Falcons pre-season expectation of Steve Mason and Mark Dekanich in Columbus, with Curtis Sanford and Allen York in Springfield had yet to materialize, when Dex went down in the pre-season with a high ankle sprain, necessitating Sanford to stay up with the Jackets.
The Falcons have had a tandem of Paul Dainton and York.
More when it becomes available.
