E.J. McGuire Passes Away

For those of us who are passionate about the NHL Entry Draft, draft prospects, and amateur hockey in general, we all know E.J. McGuire. He was the head of NHL's Central Scouting, and he passed away this morning.

Every year around draft time, McGuire was the NHL`s face when it came to the draft. He appeared in magazines, on television, and he was the ultimate resource when it came to dissecting the draft. I loved his insight into the young players, he had a way of giving each player his own identity, and he was great at finding professional comparables for junior-aged prospects.

You will be missed E.J., all the best to your family.
