Columbus Blue Jackets Trade Josh Anderson to Montreal Canadiens for Max Domi, third round pick

The Columbus Blue Jackets have traded Josh Anderson to the Montreal Canadiens for Max Domi and a third round pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft.

Anderson and Columbus had been discussing a deal, but the team was reportedly unwilling to commit to the term sought by Anderson after an injury riddled season.

Anderson leaves Columbus with 65 goals and 115 points in 267 career games.

Max Domi comes in as a center, filling a position of need for the Blue Jackets. Domi had 17-27-44 for the Canadiens this season and has 251 career points in 375 career games.

Earlier in the offseason, the Cannon had speculated about what a Domi trade could look like. Read about Domi more in depth here.

More to come on this developing story. Good luck in Montreal, Josh!

UPDATE (10/7/20, 4:25 p.m.): Domi has agreed to a two year contract with the Jackets, with a cap hit of $5.3 million.
