Blue Jackets Host Hurricanes in October 5 Home Opener
The 2018-19 season starts with a back-to-back, naturally
The Columbus Blue Jackets will begin the 2018-19 regular season on Thursday, October 4, playing the Detroit Red Wings on the road before returning to host the Carolina Hurricanes on Friday, October 5, at Nationwide Arena.
Puck drop for the Detroit game is slated for 7:30 p.m. Columbus and Carolina will play at 7 p.m. the following night.
On one hand, hooray! Now we know when the season starts! On the other hand...a back-to-back to start the season? Thanks a boatload, NHL.
