Quick Takes: Blue Jackets Fall To Leafs 5-2

Columbus and Toronto played a highly physical matchup tonight – one that saw Toronto set the tone early with a ton of…questionable…physical play as the Maple Leafs escaped Nationwide with a 3-2 win tonight.

The Leafs scored twice in the first period but the Jackets didn’t back down, scoring twice in the opening seven minutes to draw even at 2-2, but Toronto got the eventual game-winning goal later in the period, adding two more in the third.

The name of the game really was the physical play, and it wasn’t just the fact that it was physical – it was borderline dirty, and it took a near lifeless Oliver Bjorkstrand lying on the ice for a penalty to finally go in the Jackets favor.

But, lets look at the positives – another opportunity to play tomorrow, the Jackets are still in the playoffs, it’s still a 100+ point season and did I mention the playoffs?
