Columbus Blue Jackets Acquire New Jersey Devils Goaltender Keith Kinkaid
The Jackets gave up a 2022 fifth round pick.
The Columbus Blue Jackets kicked off the 2019 NHL Trade Deadline Day by acquiring New Jersey Devils goaltender Keith Kinkaid for a fifth round pick in 2022.
Questions will begin to circulate, of course, for what this means for Sergei Bobrovsky, but this does not seem to affect his future, but Joonas Korpisalo’s.
Don’t believe this portends a Sergei Bobrovsky trade, but we’ll see. Sense in goalie community as this trade percolated this morning is that Kinkaid is a more reliable option than Joonas Korpisalo should Bobrovsky struggle in post-season. See also if Korpisalo is now on the move.

Kinkaid has posted an .891% SV% and a 3.36 GAA for a 15-18-6 record for a terrible New Jersey squad.
