CBJ Prospects on the Move

The Saginaw Spirit of the OHL have made a pair of deals involving Columbus prospects.

The Spirit, the top ranked team in the Western Conference, bolstered their blueline by trading for Dalton Prout and Brandon Archibald. Prout was previously the captain of the Barrie Colts, and Archibald was a member of the Sault St.Marie Greyhounds. The only other prospect in the OHL is Dalton Smith, who remains with the Ottawa 67’s.

The WHL deadline has passed as well, with prospect Austin Madaisky remaining with the Kamloops Blazers. First rounder Ryan Johansen and prospect camp surprise Oliver Gabriel remain with the powerhouse Portland Winterhawks.

Earlier in the week goalie prospect Mathieu Corbeil was traded from the Halifax Mooseheads to the QMJHL-leading Saint John Sea Dogs. The other Q prospect in the Columbus system-Petr Straka-remains with the Rimouski Oceanic.

It looks like I will be watching more Saginaw games on my OHL package!
