2024-25 Season

Andreyanov had a respectable season in Russia’s top junior league, the MHL with a 23-6-6 record, 1.75 GAA, and .942 save percentage in 37 games. While Joshua Ravensbergen of the Prince George Cougars (WHL) was considered the top goalie in the class, the Columbus Blue Jackets surprised by taking Andreyanov with their second first round pick (acquired via the trade of former first round pick David Jiricek). Goalie coach Niklas Backstrom in particular vouched for Andreyanov.

2025-26 Outlook

While we’re still waiting for hockey here in North America, the Russian season has already begun. In two games in the VHL (Russia’s equivalent of the AHL), Andreyanov is 0-2-0 but has a 1.56 GAA and .935 save percentage. Pretty solid, for an 18 year old playing against professionals.

Andreyanov signed a long-term contract that will keep him in Russia through the 2029-30 season, after which he can pursue a career in the NHL. That being said, we’ve seen other Russian players come over before their contracts expired. Regardless, Andreyanov is a long-term prospect but one with a very high ceiling.
