The Jackets are back home from a grueling Western Canadian road trip, book-ended with games in Ottawa and Toronto. The Jackets are coming off a dismantling of the Leafs, and look to continue their winning ways tonight against former Central Division rival Nashville.

The big news from the NHL this week is the announcement of a new media deal for broadcast rights in Canada. This deal gives exclusive rights to the league to Rogers Sportsnet, while TSN is left with nothing but the CFL and World Juniors as their big-ticket products. Sportsnet will give a very small chunk of the pie to CBC, to maintain the Hockey Night in Canada brand Canadians know and love.

Noted Jacket-killer Martin Erat has again requested a trade. With his salary dipping to $2.25 million next year (thanks, CapGeek) would the Jackets be interested in his services? The price tag would likely be fairly low. I say give it a shot. (NHL.com)
