Cam Atkinson Named As All Star Replacement

The NHL’s second leading scorer will be in Los Angeles.

Cam Atkinson is going to the NHL All Star Game.

After being snubbed in the first go around, Atkinson has been chosen to replace Evgeni Malkin in Los Angeles after the Penguins forward announced that he would miss the game with a lower body injury.

Cam Atkinson leads the Blue Jackets in goals scored with 24 and in points with 46 this season. Atkinson, having a breakout season, will make his All Star Game debut at the age of 27.

Cam is currently tied for second in the NHL in goals scored this season, and is tied for 8th in total points scored.

The Blue Jackets will now have 4 representatives at the All Star Game: Atkinson, Seth Jones, Sergei Bobrovsky, and head coach John Tortorella.

Congrats to these Blue Jackets, and to Atkinson for finally getting the recognition he deserves!
