Brad Thiessen Returns to Backstop the Monsters for the 2018-19 Season

The Cleveland Monsters signed goaltender Brad Thiessen to an AHL only contract for the 2018-19 season.

Early in the 2017-18 season, Thiessen was placed on injured reserve and was not reactivated by the time the end of the season rolled around. Despite being injured, he stayed actively involved with the organization. During practice Thiessen offered advice and guided the young goalies through the process of being a professional netminder. Both Matiss Kivlenieks and Ivan Kulbakov were fresh off the USHL last season and needed a veteran to help them through the season. It is likely both goalies growth would have been stunted without Thiessen to help them along the way.

He also spent time in the booth calling games with Tony Brown and Jock Callander.

There has been no official word on if Thiessen has fully recovered from his injury. Regardless, it will be nice for everyone to have him back in Quicken Loans Arena.
