It has been well documented that in the 2015-2016 season Nick Foligno bore the brunt of the Jackets’ terrible year in his first season as Captain. He bounced back this past season, however, looking more like the Nicky that we’ve seen in the past.

The man wearing the “C” won’t get back to his 73 point career season, and that’s just fine. His 51 point campaign this past year is the kind of production we should expect, though he still finished second on the team in goals, fourth in points and led the team in powerplay markers.

He’s relied on for more than scoring – he led the forwards in ice time, contributes on both special teams and his versatility saw him play multiple forward positions, including center.

You have to applaud Foligno’s charity work, and his impact on the community in Columbus. He’s a true ambassador – one of the good guys in the game. He’s clearly become comfortable in his role(s), and after leading his team to their best season in franchise history, he knows what it takes to take his club to the next level.
