Blue Jackets Buy Out Jared Boll

Jared Boll has seen his time in Columbus come to an end.

The right wing saw his contract bought out today, with just one year remaining on the deal. The buyout cost will be $1,133,333, spread out over the next two seasons. The annual cap hit will be $566,567.

Boll, originally drafted in the fourth round (101st overall) in the 2005 NHL Entry draft, played 518 games for the Columbus Blue Jackets. Known for his fighting prowess, he registered 27-35-62 in his time here, along with 1195 penalty minutes.

Fare thee well, Jared. You were an excellent ambassador for the team and the city.

Technically, Jared Boll has been “placed on unconditional waivers with the intent to buy him out.” If he not claimed, the team will buy his contract out.
