Day two of the 2021 NHL Entry Draft started with a bang for Columbus - it has been reported that Cam Atkinson has been traded by the Columbus Blue Jackets to the Philadelphia Flyers in exchange for Jakub Voracek.

Atkinson was drafted by Columbus in the sixth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. During his time in Columbus, he amassed 213 goals, 189 assists, and 402 points in 627 career games.

Voracek, Columbus’ 7th overall pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft, was traded as part of the infamous Jeff Carter package. Since arriving in Philadelphia, he amassed 177-427-604 in 727 career games for the Flyers.

But told Cam Atkinson did not request this trade. He was the longest-tenured Blue Jackets player, has extensive business interest and charitable interests in the community.
