Despite his current physical size, Isak Rosén will be a valuable grab for anyone ready to develop him while he fills out his frame. He’s already getting plenty of practice on the Swedish national hockey stage on the Leksands IF, and he’s a notable offensive asset with the ability to play both left and right wing while shooting left.

Scouts laud his skating prowess, his speed and acceleration, and his puck handling, as well as a strong, accurate shot. He also comes from a hockey family, with his father Roger Rosén and uncle Johan Rosén having played for IFK Arboga, Luleå HF, and Leksands IF, and Sweden’s national team. Say less! In a few years and a few more LBs, Rosén sounds like he’ll be the perfect candidate for the NHL stage.

Scouting Reports

He collects most pucks mid-stride. His handling and skating forms are nearly impeccable. He’ll send false signals between the blue lines to move the feet of opposing defenders, cutting east-west and using the dotted line. He’ll fake weight shifts, shoulder-shimmy, and just overpower hapless defenders. -EliteProspects 2021 NHL Draft Guide

Electric. That is the word that comes to mind when you see Isak Rosén play. There are not too many 18 year olds who incite a palpable sense of anticipation when the puck finds their stick. While his name may be unfamiliar to many across the pond, the Stockholm youngster has been on the radars and lips of many in Sweden for several years.
-Alexander Appleyard, Smaht Scouting

“Despite his small frame, Rosén’s acceleration and control have made him a mainstay in the Leksand lineup. His aforementioned speed helps to create odd-man rushes and breakaway opportunities. His vision pairs with this, making him a dependable playmaker. Although shadowed at times by his strengths, his lack of size and physicality is still noticeable, particularly along the boards. Gaining more muscle will not happen overnight, but it should not be a major detriment to his long-term future.” Alexa Potack, Dobber Prospects

“A true playmaker. Very good technical skills. Exceptional at reading the game.” -Anders Eriksen, HC
