2020-21 Season Recap

Tyler Angle made the jump from the OHL to the AHL last season, playing 23 games for the Cleveland Monsters. Angle impressed during his time in Cleveland as he averaged more than a point per game, putting up 11-13-24 with two penalty minutes. Angle led the Monster in points, tied for the team lead in goals, and finished tied for second on the team in points. Angle had a very solid season in his first year in the AHL.

2021-22 Season Outlook

On March 29, 2021 the Columbus Blue Jackets signed Tyler Angle to a three year entry level contract that kicks in for the 2021-22 season.

After spending the 2020-21 season on an amateur tryout contract, Angle will have some security in his future now – with his play, he earned the entry level deal he signed. Angle will likely start the season in the AHL again with the Cleveland Monsters, but could see time in Columbus if there are any injuries at the center position – Columbus is perilously thin at center, and could potentially call Angle up at some point this season.
