This month in SB Nation’s NHL FanPulse, we’re having a tournament to determine the best goal song in the league. Voting closes today on the first round, so be sure to sign up here to vote if you have not already.

Here is the bracket. Seeding was determined by an initial round of fan voting by division:

Of course the Blue Jackets are underdogs to the Penguins again. Sigh.

Whether it wins or not, what do we think of “The Whip” as our goal song? It’s upbeat and it’s fun to chant along to, which I think are two important factors for a good goal song. After all this time it has become so tied to great Jackets memories for me that my response to it is Pavlovian.

Another benefit in our current times: to make sure I’m washing my hands for at least 20 seconds, I sometimes singing the goal celebration to myself, from the horn to the start of the guitar solo after the chorus.

If you don’t like “The Whip” or are just tired of it, what song would you recommend the Jackets use instead?
