The Cannon Cast Episode 21: Sonny signs, Mitch Marner rumors swirl, Vegas snubs Columbus

New, comments

There aren’t any trades to analyze, so we propose some of our own

Sonny Milano accepted his qualifying offer from the Columbus Blue Jackets on Monday, so you know we had to record an emergency episode of The Cannon Cast! Actually...we were going to record one anyway, because it’s that time of the week. We discuss that deal, the Mitch Marner offer sheet rumors and how the CBJ got no respect from the oddsmakers in Vegas. Plus, we talk about our own trade proposals, a drama-free season and the new signings this very blog made.

In this episode, we chat about:

  • How do we feel about Sonny Milano’s signing?
  • Have we (the fans) given up on him? (This piece is referenced in this discussion)
  • Should Columbus offer sheet Mitch Marner? How much is too much to give up?
  • How did our Trade Week trade proposals go over?
  • Is it worth going after Nikita Gusev?
  • Will the lack of Bob/Panarin drama make that much of a difference?
  • How about those Eastern Conference odds?

...plus a lot more.

Quick programming note: Next week’s episode will be released on Wednesday, not Tuesday. Sorry!
