Good Morning Beautiful Jackets and Monsters fans!!! What a crazy weekend of hockey, eh?

We are recording another episode tonight, March 25th. Drop your questions in the comments and we will do our best to answer them. Our Monsters writer will be on tonight. So, feel free to ask all things Monsters as well!

In other news, we have begun to realize that the absence of Ryan Murray is actually hurting the Jackets.

Also, fans are a bit excited to learn Elvis Merzlikins signed a one-year deal with the Jackets for the remainder of the season.

As we all know, the race for the NHL playoffs is alive and semi well. We break down what needs to happen for the Jackets to make the cut this season.

Columbus Blue Jackets

The Columbus Blue Jackets headed west last week and it did not start out well.

On Tuesday, the Calgary Flames scored three unanswered goals to take down the Jackets, 4-2.

Thursday was not any kinder to the Jackets. The Edmonton Oilers also scored four goals against the boys. However, this time, the Jackets were only able to score one goal.

All was not lost on the road trip! Last night, Josh Anderson came in clutch with a two-goal night. This helped propel the Jackets to a 5-0 win over the John Tortorella’s former team, the Vancouver Canucks.

The Jackets have a lot of ground to make up but playoffs are still within reach.

Cleveland Monsters

The Cleveland Monsters had an incredible weekend sweeping all three of their games. The three game weekend sweep puts the Monsters in fourth place in the North division. Their playoff destiny is now in their hands.

The Monsters kicked their weekend off in Rochester against the Americans winning 5-2.

After the game, the Monsters traveled through the night to play against the Hershey Bears at home. Over 15,000 fans experienced their 5-2 win over the Bears. They also had a chance to see Alexandre Texier score three points in his home debut.

Almost 11,000 fans and a few dogs saw the Monsters take down the Bears, 4-1, on Sunday.

It was definitely a great weekend for the Monsters.
