Ottawa Senators v Columbus Blue Jackets

One day after the Columbus Blue Jackets traded for Matt Duchene, general manager Jarmo Kekäläinen went back to the Ottawa Senators and traded Anthony Duclair and two draft picks for forward Ryan Dzingel and a pick on Saturday night.

Dzingel is a 26-year-old left wing in the final year of a two-year-contract, scoring 22 goals and 22 assists in 57 games this season.

Pierre Lebrun says Dzingel is a rental, with no extension involved (he makes $1.8 million and is due for a raise). Dzingel played three years at nearby Ohio State, earning All-Big Ten First Team and West First-Team All-American honors.

Jarmo is going for it, and the Blue Jackets are expected to still pick up a defenseman by Monday’s 3 p.m. trade deadline. What do you think about the deal?
