Jackets Trade Blake Siebenaler to Penguins

Earlier today, the Columbus Blue Jackets announced they traded Cleveland Monsters defenseman, Blake Siebenaler, to the Pittsburgh Penguins for a Conditional 2019 NHL Draft pick.

If Siebenaler plays 10 games at the NHL level with the Penguins, the Jackets will receive a seventh-round pick. If not, the Jackets receive nothing.

In 83 games with the Jackets organization, Siebenaler tallied seven goals, seven assists, and 18 penalty minutes. He has a wicked heavy shot from the blue line that either goes in when fired or scares the crap out of anyone in it’s path.

Siebenaler hasn’t played the same since coming back from an injury last season. However, in my opinion, I think a lot of that stems from the fact he didn’t get much playing time after his return. Getting more ice time will be prove beneficial.
