After stuffing your bellies with a Thanksgiving feast yesterday, now it’s time to stuff your eyeballs with some Black Friday hockey! Heat up some leftovers and tune in, or come on down to Nationwide and try to drown out those obnoxious Pens fans. Buy tickets here.

Player to Watch

Matt Murray

The 25 year old Pittsburgh netminder is having a rough start to the season, with fewer than half of his 19 starts being quality starts (47.4%; Joonas Korpisalo has 52.6% in the same number of starts). He was pulled halfway through Wednesday’s game after giving up four goals; that’s the second time this season he’s been benched during a game. He has given up at least four goals in his last three starts. If he does start today, it could be the cure for what ails the struggling Columbus offense.

Jackets Notes

This is the final game of a three game homestand, following a win over Ottawa on Monday and a loss to Philadelphia on Wednesday ... Elvis Merzlikins was sent to the Monsters to start on Tuesday (which he won!) but was back on the Columbus bench on Wednesday ... The Jackets have scored first in their last eight games ... Oliver BJORKSTRAND has a five game point streak, tallying two goals and six assists.

The Other Bench

The Penguins’ last game was a wild one, featuring a blown 4-2 lead then a comeback from a 6-3 deficit with 17 minutes remaining to win 8-6 ... Sidney Crosby is out, as he recovers from surgery to repair a sports hernia ... Crosby’s absence isn’t hurting Jake Guentzel. The noted Jacket killer has 13 points in 12 games against the Jackets.
