The Cleveland Monsters start their five-game roadtrip against the Belleville Senators tonight at 7pm. Currently, the Monsters lead the season series 2-0.

Both teams have a lot riding on this game. The Monsters were like to regain the third spot in the division. While, the Senators would like to start climbing out of last place. Seeding in the North division is fairly tight. So, a win tonight could do wonders for either team as the season goes on.

As Coach Madden eluded to after Sunday’s game, the Monsters play much better on the road. Under normal circumstances this would be something to get excited about. However, the Senators play even better at home.

Tonight will not be an easy game for either team

Player to Watch

With Kole Sherwood out for two game due to a suspension, Maxime Fortier was called up from the ECHL’s Jacksonville IceMen. While not the best prospect in the Columbus Blue Jackets system, it will be interesting to see what Fortier does with the chance he has been given.

Monsters Bench

After a two game suspension, Adam Clendening returns to the team tonight. He will likely be placed on the second pairing. Let’s hope this suspension doesn’t put a target on his back for this game.

The Monsters need to stick with the fundamentals tonight. The Senators are going to come out fast and furious. Never underestimate a team on a lose streak who is struggling to climb out of last place.

The Other Bench

Paul Carey. Paul Carey. Paul Carey.

This man has been having a standout season. The best way to stop Carey from scoring or setting up a play is to never leave him alone. The Monsters need to have at least one guy on him at all times.
